Dr. Peggy Whitson is a retired NASA astronaut and a biochemist who currently serves as the Director of Human Spaceflight at Axiom Space. She is widely recognized for her record-breaking missions to the International Space Station and her leadership in advancing commercial spaceflight.
Dr. Whitson has spent 675 days in space, more than any other woman in history. She was also the first female commander of the International Space Station, the oldest woman ever to fly in space, and she completed the longest single spaceflight by a woman.
