What does it mean to be human when machines can dream?

Questions for Anatola Araba

What does it mean to be human when machines can dream?

Are we inheriting the future or creating it?

What if the future we fear is just a failure of imagination? Drawing from thousands of global visions and from immersive storytelling, I work from what I call the D.R.E.A.M. Futures Framework, a system for designing regenerative, equitable and abundant models of tomorrow. It moves through five essential coordinates that restore hope amidst uncertainty and reveal your own role as a conscious innovator. The point is to turn dreamers into future architects, to move from paralysis to possibility, and to discover how to architect the worlds you imagine into being.

Who gets to imagine tomorrow?

At a pivotal moment in education, what young people need most is not AI skills, but the one thing machines cannot replicate: imagination. Drawing on my global work shaping the future of learning, I teach a curriculum built around four key powers to equip students for tomorrow. Through storytelling, strategy and a glimpse into the year 2202, the aim is to unlock student agency, imagination and hope in an era of unprecedented technological change. This is a blueprint for reimagining education, and a call for courageous optimism when our world needs it most.
